Indian Summer Workshop

Every season has its wonder… There is an extra season in the TCM calendar referred to as ‘Late Summer’. This is a short period of transition between the fiery heat and brightness of full summer and the cooler days of gold and russet, boots, jumpers to come - a time of harvest, abundance and change.

A time when summer may linger for a while longer, yet we are seeing and sensing the signs that we are moving into the shadows of Autumn, change is imminent. A fitting description for this season in the words of Keats might be ‘a season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ - the harvest is about to be gathered.

Both Yin and Restorative yoga are calming for the nervous system helping us adapt and adjust during times of transition and transformation, surrendering our bodies to gravity and our minds into quietude, just as each season surrenders gracefully to the next in nature’s perpetual cycle.

Grace McKelvie and Kelly Signorini invite you to join them in person for some yin yoga and gentle movement, ending with a restorative session and Sacred Sound immersion.

Grace will begin with a yin practice relevant to the season of late summer with a focus on the stomach and spleen meridians. We will then take a break where hot drinks and snack will be provided before Kelly takes over with a mix of somatic movement and a deeply restorative practice to sooth the nervous system

……and then, as the day draws to a close we will find our way into a suitably warm, comfortable and fully supported closing position to enjoy a blissful Sacred Sound immersion.
